Jane Bonner Councilwoman

Jane Bonner is a longtime advocate for the people of northeastern Brookhaven Town, where she was elected as the community’s representative on the Town Council in 2007.

As president of the Rocky Point Civic Association, Jane improved the quality of life for residents of the area by solving the problems they were experiencing in their neighborhoods. She worked as a liaison between the community and elected officials, helping residents navigate their way through town and county agencies.

Her vision for a better future through responsible planning as President of the Rocky Point Revitalization and Beautification Committee has had a direct impact on her community. In that position, she secured more than a half million dollars in grant monies for the Rocky Point downtown business corridor, making this Main Street area more attractive and improving the quality of life for all residents.
As an aide in the Suffolk County Legislature, Jane worked on behalf of the residents of northeastern Brookhaven to solve a myriad of issues ranging form illegal apartments and health care issues to having pot holes repaired, solving neighbor dispute, and general quality of life issues.

Jane has proven to be a friend and ally in our fight for our own quality of life issues here in South Yaphank and she has worked very hard for us.  She crossed party lines to join with Connie Kepert in co-sponsoring Resolution 439-08, and she has the genuine interest of the people at heart and she has proven that in her actions.
