Kate Browning

Suffolk County Legislator Kate Browning was elected to office in November 2005. She defines herself as a working mother and an activist.  She has sponsored various legislation to relocate, and mitigate noise from, the range and has net with fierce opposition by other legislators beholden to special interest sportsman’s groups.

Kate is certainly not “anti-gun” as so many in opposition to her are fond of saying, but rather she simply sees the lunacy of reopening a facility which essentially compromises the quality of life of an entire community.

She is working to arrive at a solution wherein issues important to both residents and sportsmen can be addressed and as a member of the Parks & Recreation Committee,   she oversees a committee to relocate the trap and skeet that would look for an alternate site. The committee meets periodically, and is still working on drafting a final report on sites that might be viable.
